Paddy
A loyal, devoted, snuggle bug, who loves being kissed!
Paddy’s personality: Are you looking for the ultimate cuddle bug to complete your home? Then look no further than Paddy — a gorgeous 2-year-old Shar Pei with a heart as big as his adorable wrinkly face. Paddy is an incredibly affectionate and intelligent boy who has quickly become a favourite with all our volunteers.
With his distinctive Shar Pei features, soulful eyes, and sleek, glossy black coat that’s wonderfully low-maintenance, he’s as handsome as he is loving. He’s a calm, friendly companion who enjoys being close to his people and soaking up affection. Paddy has settled beautifully into rescue life and is a quiet observer of the world around him, rarely barking and instead watching the daily doggy happenings with curiosity and charm.
Paddy’s ideal forever home: Paddy would suit a variety of homes looking for a loyal and devoted companion. Like many Shar Pei’s, he forms strong bonds with his humans and loves being part of the family. While he enjoys his daily walks and outdoor time, Paddy is not a high-energy dog and would be equally happy relaxing at home beside you after some gentle exercise and cuddles.
Paddy’s story: Paddy was found wandering the streets of Taree before being taken to Taree Pound. Unbelievably, no one came to claim him. Thankfully, he is now safe in our care and ready to find the loving forever home he deserves.
Paddy’s medical history: Paddy has undergone corrective eye surgery for bilateral lower eyelid entropion and has recovered well. He has been desexed, vaccinated, and treated for fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms. Like all Shar Pei’s, Paddy will need his skin and skinfolds looked after, but every minute spent will be worth it. This boy is love personified - or dogified!
More about Paddy: Paddy’s world revolves around humans - he adores cuddles and pats, and will sit perfectly still while receiving kisses right on his chops! He doesn’t lick; he just sits and receives. This boy is something very special.
Shar Pei’s are renowned for being highly intelligent but with low trainability - they learn quickly but may choose not to comply without clear, confident guidance. Not ideal if this is your first rodeo!
Paddy’s adoption fee is $450, which contributes towards his care to date - microchip, desexing, vaccinations, flea, tick, & worm treatments, veterinary treatment, food, & shelter.
